The second edition of ANIMAFILM - Baku International Animation Festival submission closes 31 July

The second edition of ANIMAFILM - Baku International Animation Festival will be held in Azerbaijan, from 18 to 20 October 2019, the theme is Czech animation.

The second edition of ANIMAFILM - Baku International Animation Festival will be held in Azerbaijan, from 18 to 20 October 2019, the theme is Czech animation. The festival will show dozens of foreign and national animated films for children and adults. The goal of the organizers is to create an annual event that will delight the local and foreign audience and professionals, as well as promoting the development of animation art in Azerbaijan. The submission closes 31 July. 

“In addition to the competition program, the audience will enjoy a rich accompanying program consisting of Czech animation classics,” said a festival director Rashid Agamaliyev.

The Czech program of the festival was put together by Miroslava Janičatová, who is also included in the International Festival Jury. The program of Czech films retrospectives will be soon announced on the official festival website www.animafilm.az.

- Best Short Animated Film (up to 20 minutes) 
- Best Azerbaijani Short Animated film (up to 20 minutes) 
- Best Short Animated Film for Children (up to 10 minutes) 
- Best Original Screenplay for a Short Animated film

- The film must be shot after January 1, 2018. 
- More than 50% of the film must be animation. There are no limitations in the animation techniques used in the film. 
- One film can only participate in one category. 
- Copyright of competitive films is regulated by international law. The participant (director, producer or other authorized person) who provides an animated film, declares that he is the copyright owner of the film and is authorized to screen the film at the festival.
