Thoughts On CN's Sunday Pants?

For absolutely no particular reason whatsoever I swear, I'd like to hear some comments and reviews on the new Cartoon Network mishmash animation show 'Sunday Pants'. As in- do you like the concept, is it well done, which shorts were good, which shorts were god-awful, that sort of jazz.

Oh, and it airs on Cartoon Network Sundays at 9:30 pm. Thanks!

I'll check it out Joanna. And I'll keep watch for your name :D
And congratulations on that by the way.

It is eclectic but for my taste I am taking a pass on the show. They might be one out of all of them that I would like but having to go through all that other stuff is a little hard for me. "Naruto" now that is some good story tell, but the animation is limited. Check out the sexy-Jutsu. :D

I like "Brothers Pistov" and "Monstories", that's about it. Sundays are spent in the studio so I don't watch any tv on Sundays. So I've only caught the show once. I can do without the bad singing between shows.

So... it's Sunday. It's 9:30. I am tuned in to CN.....

But I'm watching Ed, Edd, and Eddy. I would much rather be watching Sunday Pants. Haven't seen it yet, but I'm wondering if anyone know's why it isn't on. All of cartoonnetwork.com's descriptions say Sun. at 9:30.

Grrrr...

i know! i was so mad. i stopped playing halo 2 to go and watch it then BAM it wasnt even on! made me sad.

But i like this show, it is for the most part, awesome.

My favorite ones are the Travel Logs, the one with like the two russian dogs, monstories, the one with the angel and devil conscience. those are the ones i can recall at the moment. Some of them are just lame like the one that is all "good boys blah blah, bad boys blah blah" and the one with the two people making out the whole time. they are just lame. Other than those two i like watching the rest.

You have to watch out for the time zone thing. Cartoon Network almost never tells you what time zone they are talking about. If they say 5:00, I know for me it is on at 4:00.

Some of the stuff is okay. I liked the Travel Logs. I guess it depends on what cartoon they show.
James

I am in the Eastern time zone... and I had been watching CN most of the day, so I don't think I missed it that way. But maybe I did.

I watched the shorts that were on the site. I thought most of them were okay. Monstories had good animation. The soup2nuts one was pretty darn funny. I was mad that the one written by Andy Merril didn't seem to load. I was curious about that one. I want to see the one Joanna Davidovich worked on... something Kid I think it's called. (I LOVE the stuff on your website, BTW). Do you know when I can catch it? Overall, I think the idea of Sunday Pants is just so cool, that even if the shorts were terrible, I'd still watch it. It's a great way for smaller studios that usually do outsourcing or commercials, etc. to get their own creative work out there. Plus... I just think shorts are cool. Let's hope they keep it up!

I just heard today that Sunday Pants was pulled. Its not officially cancelled, but it is "on hold for the time being". That explains the sudden yank off the air this past Sunday. Ug... sometimes I just don't understand big business.

i wanted to see the andy merril one too.Cartoon planet was the greatest!

"Sunday Pants" might...MIGHT... still be on for this weekend. I checked Titantv and they have it on 9:30 eastern and the cartoon network has an ad for it also.

The site's still up for it:

They even updated the theme for it... weird.

I like the show- I've been taping it every Sunday cuz I had a bad feeling it was going to quietly disappear soon. The band doing the interstitials is wicked awesome. Plus I think it had H Jon Benjamin as one of the voices on "Travel Logs", and I totally support anything with Home Movies alumni.

as requested, here are some of my impressions:
Adrenalini- so so, Pox has done better (Wishing Bird)

Travel Logs- one of my favorites from the series

Loving Lovers in Love- it's a funny idea, but never really made me laugh

Oogloo and Anju- ? This one's just odd. No real story. I could do without it.

Monstories- well animated, but not funny

Thadlow's Driving School- this one's pretty good. It reminded me of Soup 2 Nuts kind of stuff...I just checked the cartoon network webpage- it is S2N. That explains it.

Weighty Decisions- again, well animated. It was occasionally funny. It really is the same joke every time, but I guess that may be the point.

Hall of Presidents- I liked this. Laugh out loud funny.

Show and tell- pretty good

Brothers Pistov- funny in theory, but overall not that great

Bernard- eh

Jean-Luc and Dondoozat- eh...It's always a bad sign for me when a short has a moral at the end.

That's it off the top of my head. I hope they're still going to run it. Getting O Canada back would be nice, too.
