Hey Rozzco!
It's refreshing to see a stop-motion animator on the forums. I really like your stuff. How did you get that blurred effect in the scene on your bedroom table? Are the characters in mid-air or on strings?
One of the trickiest things I experienced when I did stop-motion was finding backgrounds. You've done a great job finding places around the house to film (I especially liked the garden :D ). Have you ever considered building a backdrop of your own? What kind of camera are you using? Have you got a tripod to keep it from moving around while you film?
Sorry for all the questions. I'm just very curious; there are so many techniques!
Hope to hear back,
Pooryorik
woo hoo huge update :D
http://media.putfile.com/Figures-2 ( hmm this may take a few seconds to load, sorry for jumpy camera! and doggy photo shop laser :P haha) and way this backround was in my garden obvouisly
http://media.putfile.com/Figures-piss-about65 ( haha sorry bout slow frame rate in this one! ) The background here was in my bedroom obvouisly!
http://media.putfile.com/My-Great-Movie6739 ( hee hee i like this one ) any way this one the background is my living room
http://media.putfile.com/muck-about - This background is the table in my room!
Have fun! all the work is my own! it has got sounds to them but too much too upload so i cut them off if you would like the viedo + music file PM + youre e-mail and ill send ya it :D
Ahh questions!!!!!!! :)
Ha ha i really really like doing stop motion animation :) i love the whole "hands on" effect, although i have dabbled in some 2-D animation but still love the old plasticene!
Ah the scene on my bed room table, The figure is hanging from "Fish gut" ( its basically clear string that you use on you're fishing rod ) and i could've just made the guy dive straight forward but i wanted a "fast moving, half disappearing" techneuiqe as a special "attack" move ( haha got the idea from watchign too much anime animation ( naruto ) ) so i spun the guy on his string and took a picture hence giving the blurred effect.
As for the back grounds i found this problem my self! Now that ive fooled around with tables and gardens and other stuff, ive been wanting to make a mini set that looks like the inside of a house ( bit like wallace and gromit ) only with a japanese feel, its funny that you mentioned this and I saw this post tonight, because this after noon i started building my own "set" ive got a MASSIVE crisp box, one like you'd see in a shop with crisps in it, im gong to use it as a room, im going to paint the "floor", and "Walls" and maybe make a table and chair out of polysteriene or even modeling clay then im going to shoot a short ( few minute ) animation in it! maybe a fighting scene or maybe even soemthign simple as a wife and a husband ( maybe a child ) sitting down watchign t.v or having dinner. ( when i say simple i mean simple into context with a fighting scene )
The camera i use is a Olympus C-750 Ultra zoom.
i have two tripods at my use, i have a tiny tripod that is used on desk for close ups and a much larger tripod :- pics . . . http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a12/Rozzco/ScreenShot_010306_151632.jpg
