Janet Perlman: Bad Manners, Bad Penguins

Montreal independent animator Janet Perlman has directed or contributed to 17 National Film Board of Canada (NFB) films, winning dozens of international awards. On Thursday, June 17, this accomplished animator will be presenting a master class at the NFB Mediatheque in Toronto.

Janet Perlman is well-known in the animation world as a master storyteller. Her best-known works include The Tender Tale of Cinderella Penguin, which was nominated for an Academy Award, Why Me?, My Favorite Things That I Love, Dinner For Two, and Bully Dance. Her most recent film, Penguins Behind Bars, was just honoured with a Pulcinella for best TV movie at the Cartoons on the Bay festival in Italy.
