The Kansas City Filmmakers Jubilee announces its call for entries forJubilee 2002 - US/International Short Film Division

Anyone of any age is welcome to enter any of the following subdivisions. Allentries must be 30 minutes or under. Work may originate in any film, video ordigital medium unless otherwise noted. You may enter a single work inmultiple divisions with separate entry forms and screener tapes (VHS NTSC).

- Open: Narrative, experimental, animation, documentary genres.

West Coast Student Film Festival

The West Coast Student Film Festival invites all college, university and graduate student filmmakers around the globe to submit original work into the competition. There is no entry fee. Categories for entry are: Animation, Fiction and Non Fiction. This year's theme is "Overcoming Obstacles." Entries may be shot on any format but must be submitted in 1/2 inch VHS format. The festival will be featuring several winning films from each category, as well as top films in areas of cinematography, editing (sound/visuals), directing, acting, screenplay and soundtrack.

The 35th Annual WorldFest is one of the oldest film & video festivals in America and the world. Durango Film Festival

This juried 10-day festival will present independent feature films, documentaries, animated films, shorts, experimental, and new media works. In 1979 Reg Hartt invited animation artist BOB CLAMPETT to Toronto for an in-depth look at his career. The next year FRIZ FRELENG, BERNARD B. BROWN and GRIM NATWICK were given the same treatment. Legendary animation artist SHAMUS CULHANE followed. TEX AVERY would not travel. He talked with Reg by phone. Reg met with and learned from CHUCK JONES.These dialogues have been published.

Telluride IndieFest

Telluride IndieFest is an international event that showcases the best independent films and screenplays in the world. All genres are acceptable and multiple entries are allowed. Screenplays should be no longer than 120 pages. Film and video entries are previewed on standard VHS NTSC video (no PAL format). Selected artists may screen their entries during the festival in either Beta SP, Digital Betacam SP or standard VHS. Entry fees vary according to material length and date of entry.

18th EuropaCinema & TV - Viareggio Film Festival

The Europa Cinema & TV - Viareggio Film Festival started in 1984 as a live-action, feature film festival. Since its 15th edition, EuropaCinema & TV has programmed animation to encourage its interaction with live-action cinema. All works submitted must have their Italian premiere at the festival.

Submitted works will be posted on the MEX2001 Website, and the champion and second place finalist will win the opportunity to attend the celebration ceremony to be held in Shibuya, Japan on November 23, 2001.
