The 2nd consecutive CgA World Expo 2005, which highlights computer graphics, animation and interactive techniques, is being held at Nehru Centre. CgA World will cover the whole gamut of applications computer graphics, animation and interactive techniques, ranging from the world of animation and games to the world of visual effects for film, from the precision of design engineering and simulation to the need of the hour, GIS and medical imaging.

2005 China International Cartoon and Digital Art Festival

The 2005 China International Cartoon and Digital Art Festival (http://www.cicdaf.com/english/index.asp) will be held in Changzhou, China, on September 28 to October 5, 2005.

Last year's edition drew crowds in excess of 130,000. Since then, the city has been designated by the Central Government as one of 9 new animation production centers, and it is estimated that 150,000 visitors will attend this year's event.

Also present at the show will be numerous production studios, schools, media organizations, and technology vendors and providers.

The New England Animation Bash

The Brattle Theatre and the Coolidge Corner Theatre, the Boston area's two independent art house cinemas, are teaming up for a second year to present a weekend long festival of animation, The New England Animation Bash. This full weekend of programs will feature animation from around the world. All styles of animated work are acceptable including traditional cell animation, computer animation, experimental, stop-motion and even good ole cartoons. An audience award for Best Animated Short will be presented at the end of the weekend, as well as several honorable mentions.
