Hello.
Any updates? What are you working on? What was your summer like?
If you want to add a little show and tell- it's okay!
Thanks.

I had a fairly busy summer... I can't believe it's almost over already! I created a promo website & some concept art for a Chicago based studio developing a series called 'Karma Kitty'. You can check out the site at www.karmakitty.com
My second freelance project involved animating a 2 minute trailer for another prospective series for children called 'Marcis Magical Merry-Go-Round'. My client
recently returned to have me design the promo site.
I'm also in the process of redesigning my portfolio site and demo reel. You can check out some of my work at www.motionmilitia.com
I'll be taking a week vacation down to Playa Del Carmen in a couple weeks... thank god!
I had a great summer. I read some books, revised my concept a bit for the independent short I'm working on, and drew a lot. I also tried my hand at watercolor, which I enjoy quite a bit and will likely use for background art.
I also got a few cool clips of animation done. Nothing I'm ready to show yet, but stuff I feel pretty good about. I don't have a lot of training, but the figure drawing course I took at night last spring really helped.
Now I'm back in the classroom. With all the fun I have with multimedia, computers, and technology, and after teaching video and multimedia for 5-6 years, I've come to the conclusion that I'm an English teacher at heart, which is great since it somehow ultimately allows me more time to work on my short.

I figured since you inspired me to get this online today, I'd torture you with the link to it. This clip represents what I accomplished this summer animation wise. Story wise I got a lot more figured out, but the pencil is slower than the brain...

Funny take on the vendor guy:D
Its Thesis time! I've got a 3 minute film to produce in 10 weeks. Can he do it, folks? Eh, probably not, but I'll get a good bit finished, I will...
Well here's something I finished a few months ago. It's my first attempt at a short animation. It's going to be posted on The Ramones official website soon which is a real treat for me because I have been a HUGE Ramones fan for many years. I don't think I'm even supposed to give this link to anybody yet because it was supposed to be a surprise for the Ramones site and their webmaster is the one placing it on the site. But I can't wait for evrybody to see it. ANY feedback is appreciated. I can take the good with the bad. You won't hurt my feelings. Thanks
I forgot to mention it's an MPEG-4 , 7 minutes, and is about 28 megs. So it's not for the impatient.

as a student i am under lot of work pressure as i have got three deadlines to meet by end of this month. along with my film i have to finish a documentation of the entire filmmaking process which is killing me...film's line test is over and now i have to color 1300 frames. the treatment is ink on paper. on top of all this i have got one book illustration work for children...
and then there is editing and sound left!!!! wish me luck

Hey Larry,
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
Grega,
Your new stuff looks great as usual. I can't wait to see the short film you're doing.
As for me, I'm off to Burbank for a job interview.
I spent a lot of my summer working on animation for an interactive training program. It was for a Healthcare client that usually steers clear of cartoons and, well, fun, but this one course was SO BORING that even they had to admit that it needed something to liven it up. They asked for a "Schoolhouse Rock" type of character (like the Bill) based on this form they had to do training on. I can't believe some of the cartoon gags they let me get away with. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can post a link to it yet (I'll see if I can get permission).
I can show you this:

It's a short I'm mostly done with. Hope to get it in some festivals perhaps. Still polishing here and there but you might find it worth a look; I'm experimenting with Flash and some mixed media. --Ted
