My first website,
http://www.3darchive.info

Hi, just signed in and new to the forum, have been in the commercial art business for over 15 years but only got the chance to create a personal website.
Any comment is welcome, though I don't really get to design a proper layout, it is just an information page where I have my previous portfolios and later, my 3d assets web store by end of 2005.

Site

I don't know much about web design, but to me the home page with all of your work seems a little busy, and blocky. Maybe take that page into photoshop and mess around with the composition to make a scene that works, rather than the boxes stuck all togther. I don't even know if you need to put all that stuff on there. Maybe just select a couple of your favorite pieces or just one piece that really draws preople in, rather than showing everything you can do all at once.

Other than that, I really like your work. I think your storybook is really cool, and i love the colors used. Also you have some really cool character that I think would be a lot of fun to animate. Nice work.

Thanks, I will try to improve the main page, still looking for a template.

3D don't go buying a premade template. I'll give you a hand with the design.
Just what do you want to accomplish with this site? You have great modelling skills. If you buy a template or find a free one your page will end up looking like everyone else's.

Drop me a Private Message and I'll work you up a template that will fit your style.

I took the liberty to make up a mock homepage for you, just to give you an idea of what it could look like.

Phacker that looks good

I agree with Phacker it is too busy. Try offering simple text links which spawn up small popup windows to showcase each piece of your work. Great free java scripts can be found at http://www.cgiscript.net/

Remember generally in "media" and/or marketing ;) it is best to keep it simple and let the art work be the ART :-)
