The first animated feature..????

hi friends,

Well the record books say that Disney's "Snow White" to be the 1st animated feature. But evidences show that Quirino Cristiani, a pioneer animator from Argentina made an animated feature
titled "El Apostol"in 1926 itself, with a duration of one hour and 10 mts, composed of 58,000 drawings. Lotte Reignier from Germany made animated films like"Adventures of Prince Achmed",in 1926, followed by Dr.Dolittle in 1928 (followed by an uncompleted "The Boy and the Bewitched Things" which was abandoned after 7 years of work in 1937.).

Why these people are not given the credits for their works properly ?
Not at all a fair thing to happen..rt? Itz like not giving J.S.Blackton
credits for making animated shorts...rt? Just imagine the amount of hardwork, time, dedication etc they had given..making a feature that too in those days is not an easy thing ..why these discrimination..especially when there are proofs(may b not the reels) that they did it..????

Which "record books" say Snow White was the first animated feature?

I wouldn't say Snow White was the first, but certainly one of the earliest examples of feature-length, hand-drawn animation strongly focusing on character animation and following a classic formula.

As stated in Wikipedia.com:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the first animated feature in the Disney animated features canon; the first animated feature in Technicolor. It was produced by Walt Disney Productions, premiered on December 21, 1937, and was originally released to theatres by RKO Radio Pictures on February 8, 1938. Based upon the fairy tale Snow White by the Brothers Grimm, the film's plot has a jealous and wicked queen attempt to have her stepdaughter murdered, but the girl escapes and is given shelter by seven dwarfs who live deep in a forest. Snow White was the first major animated feature made in the United States, the most successful motion picture released in 1938, and, adjusted for inflation, is the tenth highest-grossing film of all time.

Also stated by Wikipedia:

Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (produced in Technicolor) is sometimes incorrectly considered to be the first animated feature, even though at least five feature-length animationed films had been produced previously: the very first was El Apóstol (1917) by Quirino Cristiani from Argentina, who also directed two other animated feature films, including 1931's Peludopolis, the first animated feature film with sound. Another notable early feature was the silhouette-animated The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926) from German Lotte Reiniger and French/Hungarian Berthold Bartosch which used colour-tinted scenes. The New Gulliver (1935) from the USSR also predates Snow White.
