Cinesite Europe Adds New Talent

Raiding the pool of talent left after Mill Film removed itself from the feature effects business, Cinesite Europe, Ltd. has appointed Mill Film's former managing director Antony Hunt as managing director and former director of miniature effects at Mill Film José Granell as visual effects supervisor/director of models. These senior staff members join CG artists Simon Stanley-Clamp, Andy Kind, Ivor Middleton and Royston Wilcocks, all also formerly of Mill Film. Cinesite Europe, Ltd. grew substantially during 2002, creating major digital effects sequences for DIE ANOTHER DAY, HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS and SHANGHAI KNIGHTS. Colin Brown, CEO of Cinesite Worldwide, said, "These appointments reflect Cinesite's growth over the past year and our plans for the strategic development of areas of our business. During 2003, Cinesite will be concentrating on strengthening our wide range of services, eliminating boundaries and growing our expertise. These new recruits represent a major step towards achieving these aims." Another senior appointment at Cinesite Europe is Mitch Mitchell, who has been hired as head of digital imaging. Mitchell will be heading up Cinesite's digital lab, film scanning and laser recording departments, thereby streamlining the management of all of these related services. Mitchell has a wide range of experience in the filmmaking industry. Most recently he worked as a freelance visual effects supervisor, including supervision of the extensive effects in the NBC television series THE 10TH KINGDOM.
