Deluxe Creative Services Add Feline Touch to Chloe Sevigny’s ‘Kitty’

EFILM provides film scanning, Company 3 completes color grading, and Method delivers VFX and finishing for directorial short film debut premiering at the Cannes Film Festival.

Deluxe’s Method Studios, Company 3, and EFILM provided a variety of services on Chloe Sevigny’s directorial debut, Kitty. The short film is based on Paul Bowles’ eponymous short story about a young girl who transforms into a kitten. EFILM provided film scanning, then Method did an initial conform and added visual effects to achieve the ethereal transition from girl to cat, match the cat’s eye color to the girl’s, and clean up prosthetic makeup on the girl including whiskers and claws. Creative Director Alvin Cruz and Supervising Producer David Derwin led the Method team. Following VFX, Company 3’s Tom Poole completed color grading and then Method provided finishing. Kitty will premiere on May 20 during Cannes Critics’ Week.
