The partnership between DreamWorks Animation and Paramount Pictures has further deteriorated, writes The Hollywood Reporter. The board of DWA has turned down Paramount's offer to extend their distribution deal till the end of 2013. Paramount had offered to release DWA films for an 8% fee. Paramount wants more than that in the future, but DWA wants to pay a lower percentage.
In July, Paramount announced the launch of its own animation division, following the success of RANGO.
DreamWorks is weighing its options, but has not begun any discussions with any other distribution companies.
