eOne Names Nelvana Licensing Agent for ‘Peppa Pig’ in Canada

Leading global entertainment companies form strategic partnership for preschool mega-hit.

In a multi-year partnership, international entertainment company Entertainment One (eOne), co-owners and worldwide distributors of global preschool powerhouse Peppa Pig, has named Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, a worldwide children’s entertainment producer and distributor, as the property’s exclusive licensing and branding agent across Canada. Peppa Pig, which airs weekdays on Treehouse in Canada, is dramatically expanding its footprint in North America with a wide-ranging consumer products initiative rolling out to mass market stores across the region beginning fall 2016.

The broad-scale licensing program for Peppa Pig will include numerous categories – from apparel and footwear to home goods, stationery and greeting cards, and from health and beauty aids and mobile phone accessories to confectionary products, and many others. Among the licensees already on board are Jazwares (master toy partner); Revolution (bed and bath products); JCorp (children’s apparel in sizes 2-6x); Black and White (footwear and belts); Calego (hard case luggage, backpacks and totes); Amscan (party goods), Candlewick Press (jacketed hard cover, trade paperback and novelty books); Imagine Publications (French language publishing, coloring and activity books); The Canadian Group (games and puzzles); and Primary Colors (packaged fruit snacks, candy, cookies and crackers and assorted stationery products). In addition, eOne will begin distributing Peppa Pig DVDs in Canada beginning in 2016.

The Peppa Pig branding initiative also will include consumer promotions, costume characters appearances (managed by Daytime Enterprises) and more. And with a popular website and engaging presence on Facebook and Twitter, plus two fun-filled free apps, now available on all platforms, there’s even more ways for fans around the world to connect with Peppa Pig.

This year, the global Peppa Pig licensing program is on track to exceed $1 billion in retail sales.

Peppa Pig is a powerful entertainment brand with more than 700 licensees worldwide. The TV show airs in over 180 territories and has been translated in more than 40 languages, so kids everywhere can fully immerse themselves in Peppa and her family’s upbeat and entertaining adventures.
