Third and final trailer for Illumination Entertainment’s forthcoming ‘Despicable Me 3’ shows Gru at loose ends in the wake of a disastrous encounter with mega-villain Balthazar Bratt.
A month out from the film’s release, Universal has dropped a the third and final trailer for Illumination Entertainment’s forthcoming Despicable Me 3, the latest and much anticipated comedy-adventure in the Despicable Me franchise that includes Despicable Me and the biggest animated hits of 2013 and 2015, Despicable Me 2 and Minions.
Despicable Me 3 continues the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters -- Margo, Edith and Agnes -- and the Minions. Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in Despicable Me 3 is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award-winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Central’s global phenomenon South Park and the Broadway smash The Book of Mormon. Parker voices villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ‘80s, and proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.
This final trailer for the film sets the scene, showing Gru at loose ends after being fired as a secret agent in the wake of a failed encounter with mega-villain Balthazar Bratt. Then Gru meets his long-lost charming, cheerful, and more successful twin brother Dru. Dru wants Gru to embrace his dark side again and team up for one last criminal heist to steal the diamond that Bratt has stolen:
Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy produced the film executive produced by Chris Renaud, directed by Pierre Coffin & Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio. The world premiere of Despicable Me 3 will be held in Annecy on Wednesday, June 14th; the film will open in French cinemas on July 5, 2017 and voiced by French actors Gad Elmaleh and Audrey Lamy. The film will be released in U.S. theaters on June 30, 2017.
