Press Release from HIT Entertainment
LONDON, THURSDAY 3 NOVEMBER: Today saw Fireman Sam, the number 2 pre-school boys brand, do his first ever interview on BBC Radio 1’s Chris Moyles Show. Sam was interviewed by celebrity reporter Dominic Byrne, who is more commonly known for interviewing A-list Hollywood stars. This was a first for the breakfast show which has never before interviewed a children’s television character.
The purpose of the interview was to launch Fireman Sam’s fire safety campaign for Bonfire Night. During the interview he provided the show’s millions of listeners with his top tips for having a safe and enjoyable Bonfire Night this weekend.
The listener response to the interview was exceptional, with thousands texting in to ask Sam questions and request personal ‘hellos’ for children all over the country.
This exclusive interview follows what has been a hugely successful year for Fireman Sam. Not only did the brand win best pre-school property at The Licensing Awards, the Pontypandy Multi Rescue Set from Character Options has just become a 2011 Dream Toy for Christmas.
You can watch or listen to the interview at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1.
