GLAS Animation Festival Reveals 2022 Award Winners

The Grand Prix went to Juliette Laboria for her short film ‘Pests;’ James Thatcher wins this year’s GIF competition for ‘Soccer Bounce.’

The 2022 GLAS Animation Festival, which ran online April 6-10, has just revealed the winners of its film competition. The event focuses on expanding the scope of animation by highlighting new voices, new talents, new themes, and a new generation of independent filmmakers and curators.

The winners are:

Grand Prix:

  • Pests by Juliette Laboria

Special Mention:

  • Noir Soleil by Marie Larrivé

High Risk Award

  • Ghost Dogs by Joe Cappa

New Talent Award:

  • Goodbye Jerome by Gabrielle Selnet, Adam Sillard, and Chloé Farr

Audience Award:

  • Sierra by Sander Joon

Family Competition Award:

  • Luce and the Rock by Britt Raes

US Competition Award:

  • Tennis Ball on His Day Off by Julian Glander

US Competition Special Mention

  • Menagerie by Jack Gray
