Millennium Films announces that "Twilight" star Kellan Lutz has been cast as Hercules in “Hercules 3D.”
Los Angeles, CA – Millennium Filmshas announced its casting of Kellan Lutz, star of the billion dollar franchise The Twilight Saga, to play Hercules under director Renny Harlin. Lutz will portray the most famous mythological hero of ancient times. Hercules was the son of Zeus, the most powerful of the Greek Gods who fell in love with the mortal queen Alcmene. The action-packed movie will have at its center a passionate love story between Lutz and the Princess of Crete, who was promised to his older brother despite her undying love for Hercules.
"Kellan has the look and charisma that Harlin envisioned for the character," says Head of Creative Affairs Boaz Davidson. "Renny had him in mind from the start, and we are really excited to have him on board.”
Production will start next month at the company's Nu Boyana Film Studios in Bulgaria. The script was written by Sean Hood, Renny Harlin, and Giulio Steve and will be produced by Les Welden and Danny Lerner, who also teamed to produce Millennium’ Film’s latest hit Olympus Has Fallen.
Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, John Thompson and Boaz Davidson will executive produce.
