Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products Latin America, and Ripley, one of the largest department stores in Chile, have formed an exclusive retail partnership to bring some of Nickelodeons most popular properties to Ripleys, across multiple categories with special marketing and promotional tie-ins.
Ripley will support the venture with various promotional campaigns, online elements and Ripley catalogs, featuring Nickelodeon properties and characters, including SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, DORA THE EXPLORER and ROCKET POWER. The partnership will start in July with nine department stores in its first phase. The agreement includes designated Nickelodeon points of sale at Ripley department stores.
This direct to retail agreement is a significant step forward in our consumer products strategy to leverage the enormous popularity that Nickelodeon characters have with kids and families in Chile and to partner with a premier market leader like Ripley will bring our business to a new level, said Manuel Torres, vp of consumer products for Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products Latin America. Nickelodeon and its characters have a unique relationship with their audience and this alliance will allow our products to be at the reach of children in Chile in a way never before seen.
This alliance marks an important step for Ripley, since the Nickelodeon brand and its wide variety of products will offer Chilean kids and moms an entertaining and interactive space filled with product lines with great design and quality at affordable prices, said Adrian Jofre, commercial director for Ripley. We are sure that this project will successfully add value to our clients and that it will contribute to maximizing the Nickelodeon brand in Chile.
Miami-based Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products is a part of Nickelodeon Enterprises, the ancillary business unit of Nickelodeon Networks. It is responsible for licensing Nickelodeon brands and characters as well as the properties of Paramount Pictures, Comedy Central, Spike TV and MTV (International), as well as some non-Viacom properties.
