Playhouse Disney Comes To Latin America

Disney and ESPN Media Networks Latin America announced the launch of their new Playhouse Disney Channel in Latin America, with programming especially designed for preschoolers, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Playhouse Disney Channel joins existing Disney Channel and Jetix cable channels, present in 19 countries in the region, to provide entertainment for the entire family.

As of June 1, 2008, Playhouse Disney Channel will be offered in the basic subscription package offered by Cablevision, Multicanal and Teledigital.

Playhouse Disney Channel is a channel for children aged 2 to 5, their parents and caregivers. It encourages comprehensive preschool child development, comprising every aspect leading to this development. It is an innovative, learning-based channel with music, stories, learning segments about nature, the English language and the development of motor skills, among others. It includes all-time preschoolers' favorites and new animated and live-action series.

Playhouse Disney Channel will have three feeds in Latin America: the North feed (Caribbean countries, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Republic and Venezuela), the South feed (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Peru) -- both in Spanish. A third feed will go to Brazil and will be in Portuguese.
