The San Francisco International Film Festival (SFIFF) is a celebration of international and independent film that has brought progressive and discerning Bay Area film audiences together with the best films and filmmakers in the world since 1957.
In 2007, the San Francisco International Film Festival became the first film festival in the Americas to turn 50. We recognized this historic milestone in style by screening 120 unique programs of the finest in international cinema, playing host to more than 80,000 film lovers and hundreds of filmmakers, journalists and film industry professionals, throwing sensational parties, launching new digital initiatives, such as international online, celebrating Bay Area film culture, showcasing new technologies and, all in all, having a blast.
Narrative features, documentaries, shorts, animation, experimental, youth-produced and television works on film, video and digital media, which have been completed after Jan. 1, 2007, may be submitted. The Festival highlights current trends in international film and video production with an emphasis on work that has not yet secured U.S. distribution.
Primary deadline is Nov. 2, 2006, and the final deadline is Nov. 30, 2007. For more information, visit www.sfiff.org/festival.
