Freida Pinto (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE) has been cast in 20th Century Fox's PLANET OF THE APES prequel, RISE OF THE APES, reports VARIETY.
Freida Pinto (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE) has been cast in 20th Century Fox's PLANET OF THE APES prequel, RISE OF THE APES, reports VARIETY. John Lithgow is also in talks to join the cast. Pinto will play a colleague of star James Franco, who plays a scientist who genetically alters apes giving them advanced intelligence. Lithgow would play Franco's father.
Rupert Wyatt is directing. Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa, who penned the script, will produce with Chernin Entertainment's Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark. Weta Digital is handling the visual effects.
Production starts next month. Fox has set June 24, 2011 for its release.
