Thomas Newman, the composer of the musical scores for “Finding Nemo” and “WALL-E,” reveals that he will be collaborating on the upcoming Pixar feature, “The Good Dinosaur.”
Thomas Newman, the composer of the musical scores for Pixar films Finding Nemo and WALL-E, will be collaborating with Walt Disney Pictures studios on the upcoming Pixar feature, The Good Dinosaur.
At a Le Moyne and Syracuse University event, Newman revealed that The Good Dinosaur‘s score will be his next project, according to a report by the Upcoming Pixar blog.
He also discussed the challenge of writing music for animation, reportedly saying: “Writing for animation is a lot different. In live-action, you can settle on a mood or tone that lasts for a long time. In animation, the tone is shifting every two or three seconds. There’s a lot more writing, a lot more notes. It can be scary.”
His music will undoubtedly bring plenty of life to The Good Dinosaur, which will be co-directed by Bob Peterson (co-director of Up) and Peter Sohn, and is set to release on May 30, 2014.
