VooDooDog, Animal Logic and ATTIK all took home Gold World Medal Awards at the New York Festivals 2005 International Film and Video Awards Competition.
VooDooDog won the Animated Main Title category for its work on Golden Globe-winning film THE LIFE AND DEATH OF PETER SELLERS. Creative director Paul Donnellon and managing director/producer David Z. Obadiah accepted the award at the awards presentation at the Hudson Theatre in New York City. The tile sequence was commissioned by HBO Films.
Sydney digital production company Animal Logic has been awarded a Gold World Medal in the Art Direction: Promotion Spot category for its FUTURE CAR promotion spot, produced for Cartoon Network.
The spot is a 60-second montage of material that Animal Logic designed for Cartoon Networks reface and relaunch in June 2004. The ad screened in theatres across the U.S. to promote the relaunch and give a sneak preview of Cartoon Networks new look.
For the relaunch, Animal created a 3D computer-generated universe where the 2D cartoon characters live, and developed more than 35 minutes of new elements, including network IDs and packaging to run between shows and take viewers in and out of commercial breaks.
Global creative agency ATTIK won a Gold World Medal for Best Computer Animation for its Scion campaign broadcast spots TRANSFORMER and 3D ARTIST. In addition, those two spots and a third (TELEPORTER) also earned the Silver World Medal in the Best Special Effects category.
All three spots were produced under the direction of ATTIK's global creative director and co-founder Simon Needham by Sydney-based visual effects, animation and design company Ambience and their director Rob Dupear. TRANSFORMER -- which originally debuted as a cinema spot in top California markets -- dramatically fictionalizes the evolution of Scion's first models, the Scion xA and xB, from robot form. The visual-effects intensive TELEPORTER is an artistic showcase of Scion's tC model from the perspective of a quantum physicist, and 3D ARTIST, in which the tC races to survive inside a futuristic 3D videogame, is tagged, "Scion tC by Stan, 3D Artist."
