12th International Film Festival "ETIUDA&ANIMA 2005" will feature an international student and short film competition. The following prizes will be awarded at Anima 2005 competition: Grand Prix Golden Jabberwocky, Silver Jabberwocky, Bronze Jabberwocky, Special Golden Jabberwocky for the Best Animated Student Etude of the Festival. The jury also reserves the right to award Honorary Diplomas.

The Grand Prix at Tampere 35th International Short Film Festival has been awarded to the Norwegian Pjotr Sapegin for his film GJENNOM MINE TYKKE BRILLER (THROUGH MY THINK GLASSES) (2004). The jury characterized the clay animation as skillful and imaginative, a work of art and humanity and remarked that it portrays the human nature in a poetic and loving way.

On March 7, 2005, National Film Development Corp. Malaysia (Finas) Chairman Datuk Abdul Aziz Rahman urged Malaysian feature, documentary and animation filmmakers to look toward making films that appeal to an international market, reports BERNAMA. The Malaysian tends to make films that appeal to specific local tastes, which make quick profits.

Abdul Aziz said, "Most of them (movie producers) never think that messages conveyed to the audience should be given priority".

Just months after its debut on PBS KIDS GO! in the U.S., Scholastic Ent.s new series MAYA & MIGUEL has already been sold in more than 30 countries, including to the BBC in the U.K.; Cartoon Network Latin America; NOGA in Israel; ABS-CBN in the Philippines and Luk International in Spain and Portugal. The international broadcasters have acquired all 65 half-hour episodes of the breakthrough series.

The International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is organizing its iEmmys Festival and International Emmy Awards. The event highlights excellence in television from producers from all over the world. The festival features industry speakers, discussions and screenings.
