TV France Turns Up 36 for Sunny Side Of The Doc
TV France will be taking a stand and send 36 members to the 17th International Documentary Market, Sunny Side of the Doc, which takes place June 27-30, 2006 in the Espace Encan in La Rochelle, France.

Alexander Coridass Renewed to Head ZDF Enterprises
Alexander Coridass, president/ceo of ZDF Enterprises, will remain in charge of the ZDF licensing subsidiary for another five years, according to Markus Schächter, gm of the German pubcaster ZDF, who said Coridass' contract has been renewed. The 51-year-old media manager has been in charge of the ZDF subsidiary since 1998.

The Meltdown & Last Stand Help Fox Cross $1 Billion Overseas
Twentieth Century Fox became the first Hollywood studio this year to hit the $1 billion mark at the overseas box office, thanks to Blue Skys animated ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN ($441M) and X-MEN: THE LAST STAND ($160.6M), according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
2006 marks the second consecutive year that Fox has led the pack in the race to break the billion-dollar threshold. But last year it took Fox International about three weeks longer, bolstered by STAR WARS: EPISODE III REVENGE OF THE SITH and KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.

Aardman Launches International TV Distribution Division
Aardman Animations, the Academy Award-winning stop-motion animation studio, is making its foray into distribution, launching its own dedicated sales arm, Aardman International, to exploit its growing catalogue of properties.

Int'l Interactive Emmy Awards Winners Announced
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the winners for the first International Interactive Emmy Awards organized in partnership with Reed MIDEM, in Cannes, France. A Channel, Interactive Service and Program from the U.K., South Korea and France won the first ever International Interactive Emmy Award in their category. The inaugural Pioneer Prize was presented to Jonathan Miller, chairman/ceo of AOL for his innovative contributions to the field of interactive television.
Jason Wells New SVP, Mobile Ent. for SPTI
Jason Wells joins Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) as its new svp, mobile entertainment. Wells will relocate from Los Angeles to SPTI's European headquarters in London and will lead the newly formed mobile entertainment group. 4Kids Ent. will ring the Opening Bell of the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, in celebration of the 2006 American International TOY FAIR being held on Feb. 12-15 in New York.
