The 14^th edition returns in-person this September as a weekend gathering and celebration at Concordia University featuring workshops, exhibitions, and almost 10 hours of film content.

‘France TV Award for a Short Film,’ ‘YouTube Award,’ and the ‘Young Audience Award’ are among the special prizes to be awarded on June 17; festival runs June 13-18.

Companion ‘Hayao Miyazaki Encores’ film series showcases the director’s work where it is most impactful – on the big screen; catch the last 2 screenings - ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ on May 13 and ‘Ponyo’ on May 27 at the David Geffen Theater.

The event, taking place in-person April 7-10 and online April 7-24, will include a behind-the-scenes look at the popular BBC and HBO series ‘His Dark Materials, a discussion with Aardman animator Carmen Bromfield Mason, and a live animation demonstration by Multi-award-winning animator Joanna Quinn.

Out of 1,347 short film submissions from 100 countries, 38 films were chosen to compete in the ‘Official’ category, 8 films were selected in the ‘Off-Limits’ category, 17 in the ‘Perspectives’ section, and nine in the ‘Young Audience’ section; the Annecy Festival runs June 13-18.

102 animated shorts representing 22 countries have been chosen for official competition; the hybrid event takes place in person from April 7-10 in Cardiff with online events held throughout the month.

The visual effects conference highlights artistic and technology advances in VFX; programs will include a look at artificial intelligence, sessions focused on the industry’s business and people, production sessions, and presentations of concept art.
