In the third of my trifecta of “Idiots and Angels” theatrical release appearances, I made a trip to Chicago, where it played at the wonderful Music Box Cinema. Three years ago, Gabe Levinson brought me to the Music Box to run a rough cut of the work in progress to help me make the final cut. It was wonderfully helpful and important.

Well, now I'm back with the finished product. Gabe has been working hard for two month getting the word out and setting up interviews and appearances. After picking me up at the airport, we drove to Columbia College which has a wonderful animation program. Professor Ron Fleischer took me for a tour, then I did a master class for the students.
Then, it was off to the Music Box, where we had a good crowd for the late show. Beforehand I got to have drinks with the legendary graphic novel artist Geof Darrow. There were lots of fans and I introduced both Gabe and Taylor Armstrong (who worked on the film) up on stage. In the audience, we had a number of participants from the earlier test screening, so I asked them to take a bow. The crowd seemed to love the film. I got sustained applause and a great Q+A (why couldn't I get something like this in LA?)
The next day I waited in the airport for my return to NY. I was able to read the reviews that came out that morning and they were fantastic! So it looks like the film will do well in Chicago. My thanks go out to Gabe Levinson and the wonderful people of Chicago.
