Television production company is seeking flash designers/animators for a one hour sketch comedy show with a twist that will air on a major television network. All the sketches are based on classic jokes e.g. A guy walks into a bar, or a blonde, brunette, and a redhead..., however, some jokes cannot be acted out because they involve a dog or take place in space but we want to include them so that's where the animation comes in. We will provide you with several approved jokes that we need animated.
We can't pay you for your work in the one hour special but its great exposure. IF the show goes to series come fall we may be able to open the door for future discussions/payment.

So......you want an hour's worth of Flash Animated skits, done to your specificications (obviously), in 30 days, for a major television network.
You'll need about 30 to 40 animators to have a hope of pulling this off in the timeline.....
.., and you don't want to pay them.

And while you are dreaming.............go learn about how the animation biz really works. If you are doing this for a slot on commerical TV, that means you have a network committment--which means sponsors have been found to sonsor your show--ergo to pay the network for the program you are making. That likely means that money has come your way to get this thing done, that means that you can/SHOULD pay for talent that is going to be/doing work for you so that YOU can gain a profit.
But not them.
Why not drop the pretense like everyone else that makes this kind of offer--why not just say that you want to take advantage of talent that has no experience in the industry? And if you want inexperienced talent........think about the product that you'll get from said talent..........they are inexperienced meaning all kinds of mistake and glitches are possible.
Hey, if you really cared about your production, you'd hire people that know what they are doing.
But do you really care..........or even know what you are doing?

I agree with Ken, thinks like this is criminal, those guys know that the industry only wants guys with experience. and that the jonger animators want to gain experience. they take advantage of that situation. Its very cheap, but realistic.

Its a no-brainer. Would anyone here hire a teenager to fix their car, or build their house? Would they feel comfortable with a intern handling their check-up at a hostpital? You get what you pay for.
Platitudes and encouragement have no calories, can pay no bills and are very, very poor at keeping the rain and wind off your head--so why work for them?
Paying talent typically means you get experienced and committed talent--people that know their stuff and deliver until the job is done. It gives you the means to secure good people and get rid of them if they don't work out.
If the talent aren't getting paid, what on God's green Earth is there to keep them through to the end of the project?
And if talent starts bailing......what will the product look like? Who the hell wants to create junk? Was common sense waived as some kind of optional extra for the people that make these kinds of "job" offers?
Idiots................idiots want and expect something for nothing--but turn around and ask these folks for something for nothing and what will the answer be???
Like I said, a no-brainer.
PS: Oh, and anyone ever notice that maybe one in twenty of these offers ever post any kind of feedback in forums like this? Speak voulmes for the dedication these folks have towards their "projects" me thinks. Of course, it anyone ever hears of one of these "jobs" actually amounting to something, I'd love to hear about it.

I'm in a flash production right now, for a major network. I cannot begin to see working for free ever. I can only imagine the kind of crap that would be created by the foolish few for this company. What greedy jerks.
We can work out a deal if you let us know what television network that you are talking about and more details. Everything is possible if you r serious enough.
