Hi,
I'm working on a title sequence for a project and I'm trying to find some reference art for inspiration, but surpassingly I can't find anything like what I know is already out there. So I'm wondering if someone here could point me in the right direction.
The style is retro 60's, very Jonny Quest action/adventure, high ChromaColor art. Interested in either video or stills. Just trying to find some reference pieces to help the ol creativity.
thx,
Jack.
It's not a precise peg because the imagery included is varied in itself, but have you been to the Cartoon Retro site? I was only there for a month and it absolutely blew my mind what cool stuff they had.
Saul Bass is always a great reference for retro title sequences. It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World is always a good one - http://youtube.com/watch?v=pmPEV1SlaTo&mode=related&search=
Ask your aunts and uncles. Johnny Quest wouldn't be high on my list.
Pat Hacker, Visit Scooter's World.
The Cartoon Retro site is fantastic. I'll be paying for that very, very soon.
I forgot all about Saul Bass, those are awesome.
Thanks a lot for the help. Jonny Quest Rules!!!
Cheers,
Jack.
How about the opening to "I Dream of Jeannie"?
Saul Bass is Fantastic! Same goes for "Jeannie" and Cartoon Retro. Here's yet another option, have you also tried out Cartoon Modern?

I know it skews more to the 50's and early 60's, but you never know what will get those creative juices going. Good luck and let us know how the project turns out!
Thanks for the link Blair07, that was a fun blog.
Don't do nothing because you can't do everything.
