The 23rd International ShortFilmFestival and the 9th Mo & Friese Children's ShortFilmFestival are going to present the best international short films, chosen from more than 3,800 submissions.
About 220 productions are going to compete for a total of 30,000 Euros worth in price money. These prizes will be awarded by both the jury and the audience in the International and No Budget-Competition, the German, Hamburg and the Mo & Friese Children's ShortFilmCompetition. In the Three Minute Quickie section there will be an audience award. Last but not least, the TV stations Arte, ZDFdokukanal and the GEMA Foundation will award prizes cross-sectionally.
In this year's festival, an additional 200 films are going to constitute the special programs. The country-focus will take a look at Lebanon and true gems will be unearthed in What are the Others up to?, Work in Progress, Remixed Footage and Trac(k)ing Sound.
