3Dti/3DMIRAGE

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anybody has ever heardof 3DTi or their parent company 3DMIRAGE based in Manhattan NewYork. They offer 3D animation training and they claim to have solid links to the industry which provide internships and jobs to there students. Does anyone know anything about them and is it worth taking their course?
Their web site is http://www.3dtraining.com

Thanks in advance,
gavvalion .:)

Is there a text version of that site? I'm on a 7.4mbps broadband connection and a 2GHz computer and it just sits there whenever you hit a link.

I am not sure.:o

Ah, must've been temporary. It's on a good clip now...lemme check it out...

EDIT: I say no, overall, but that's with an incomplete perspective. All the connections in the world won't go anywhere if you can't cut it talent-wise, and the pseudo-marketing writing in the FAQ about mastering -anything- in 12 weeks, let alone 3D software, let alone three separate suites, and beyond that professional-caliber animation...kind of a putoff. Still trying to look for student work. Bear in mind though that I'm coming into this as a student character animator, whereas they seem to want to cast a wider net. Keep talking to people (closer to the program) and of course the school itself and let them know what you want to get out of it, and don't be afraid to bust bricks to get honest answers. It's your time and your money.

I think a grain of salt is needed, along with lime and tequila.

The person the user "machuse" believes was invented says a lot of purely misinformed and stupid things, and with a poor grasp of the English language and amusingly, of idioms. The way their "students" and even their own replies go in that thread, it's bad news.

Yeah I am still investigating!

Thanks for your words ScatteredLogical. Yeah I will continue to research the program, because if it turns out to be worth my time it would be cool because I live in NYC. I have the same problem I can't seem to find much examples of student work beyond the featured student on the website.

Thanks again,
