Hi,
I put a film on vimeo I made a few years ago, a cut-out experiment. I had the Idea that I can make a film with stretched drawings, who looks normal when I capture them from the right angle.. Complicated to explain, take a look..
hope you like it!
Simon
That was very nice, I like that you were animating on two different levels. I like that when the character turns, it is not like turning a piece of paper on it side.
What are you up to now? Also, I like your studio.
very cool, such a simple story, and very engrossing...I'm a fan of this for sure.

please check it out, and give me anything from advice, to comments, to critiques. Give me anything. I NEEED to get better and I need your help...yes you...
I think that was brilliant! I especially like the tighter shots where you can see that it is really cutout and not being faked in Flash or Photoshop (like I would probably do it.) It makes it very surreal.
The perspective trick you're using is probably a lot similar to this sidewalk chalk artist. (scroll down, there are some weird shots of his work from the opposite angle where you can see how much he has to distort things to make it look correct from the "correct" viewing angle.)
It would be quite a task (but quite an achievement) to animate a similar sequence like yours, but in an outside environment like this.

hey there, thank you all for your comments! I am happy you like it :)
this street drawings are really amazing. The principle behind is exactly the same that I used in animation.
Wontobe: I am working in France as 2D animator, I do long hours and there is not much energy left to do my own stuff at the moment. I hope to find more time for that in the future..
thanks!
