For years, I have been working on a potential script for another entry in Disney's animated The Jungle Book series, combining some of the unused stories from Kipling's book with Disney-style comedy, fun, heart and magic. I am quite passionate about this project, and would love to see something like it made by Disney someday. I know that's quite a dream, especially given the following obstacles:
- The Walt Disney company states on their website that they do not accept story suggestions from unsolicited writers
- I do not have any training specific to the animation industry (although I do have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and studied film)
- My family and I live in Canada, and I do not intend to move very far from where I am located now.
- As far as I can tell, Disney no longer makes sequels to their 2D animated films (although the 2011 "Winnie the Pooh" film does give me hope)
Do I have any chance of being able to share my ideas with anybody at Disney? If so, does anybody have any tips?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry, no chance unless you actually go to work for Disney.
You'll have to overcome your own 4 stated obstacles to get there.
"We all grow older, we do not have to grow up"--Archie Goodwin ( 1937-1998)
You'd probably have better luck forming your own studio and making it yourself, or something "near" the original Jungle Book.
I think that it is a good idea to pitch stories for Disney because they have a lot of money and can make the story come to life. I would love to write a story for them, but I would have to do some research first since it's been so long since I've written anything. Just have a look on this https://halopaper.com/ for more ideas. But if I get the chance, then I will definitely try to pitch one of my stories!
