Hello, I'm new here,my name is Pablo (from Chile) I'm artist that works in book ilustrations, comic book autor, conceptual designs, theather designer, storyboards for animations, videoclips and commercials, in Chile and other countries.
I'm asking about advice for a problem with a client; I live in Chile and I worked with the director Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri 5 months ago in a couple of commercials; currently, here, the producers are the responsible for the payment, but in this case, was the director, I tried to contact with the director and I received only few replies about "the payment is on the way", the last message was a month ago and about the payment, nothing yet; I would like to know other ways to being payend and protect my work for this kind of problems.
Thanks in advance
To help ensure you get paid, get paid in instalments and deliver the work in instalments as well.
If the storyboard is a certain length, divide it up into a reasonable amount.......say, thirds. Whatever the rate is for the job, ask for 1//3 ( for example) when you deliver that first 1/3 of the 'board.
Now, here's the thing........if someone is going to stiff you on the money.......they are not going to want to pay ANYTHING. Once someone pays out a portion, they USUALLY are serious enough to go through with the whole deal.
If the payment is on the way, but you are not sure if they will honour the agreement......continue working but hold on to the work until the money comes. That means also when it arrives, also waiting until it CLEARS at your bank. Once it does, then you can send whatever portion of the work you are holding.
If you've not worked for the client before, it's a reasonable policy to have, especially if they have no reputation prior.

It is crucial to consider your roof when picking a space or a home since difficulties may develop down the road if you don't. Consequently, it is preferable to ask specialists from flat roof companies to conduct a thorough examination and perform any required repairs before you purchase a house with a flat roof. Noting that this strategy enables you to do so is important since you do not want to encounter complications in the future.
