2019 César Awards: 12 Animated Shorts Vie for Nominations

France’s Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques to reveal nominees on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

France’s Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques has revealed its shortlist of 12 animated short films vying for a nomination for the 2019 César Awards.

The list includes (Fool Time) Job by Gilles Cuvelier, 59 Secondes by Mauro Carraro, Au Coeur des Ombres (Between the Shadows) by Alice Eça Guimarães and Mónica Santos, La Chute by Boris Labbé, Étreintes by Justine Vuylsteker, Féroce by Izù Troin, Il S’est Passé Quelque Chose (Something Happened) by Anne Larricq, Le Mans 1955 by Quentin Baillieux, La Mort, Père & Fils by Denis Walgenwtiz et Winshluss, Raymonde Ou L’évasion Verticale by Sarah Van Den Boom, Reruns by Rosto, and Vilaine Fille (Wicked Girl) by Ayce Kartal.

These 12 shortlisted films will be presented in the César 2019 DVD that each voting member of the Academy will receive at the end of December, and will also be shown at the Les 3 Luxembourg Cinema on Saturday, December 8, 2018.

The first round of voting, which will take place from January 2-22, 2019, will designate the four films nominated for the 2019 César for Best Animation Film (Short Film). The nominees will be announced at the Nomination Announcement Press Conference on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.
