Three Features, Four Shorts Nominated for Animation Cesars

‘Le Grand Mechant Renard et Autres Contes,’ ‘Sahara’ and ‘Zombillenium’ will face off in the feature animation category. 

PARIS -- Three features and four short films have been nominated in the animation categories for the 43rd annual Cesar Awards.

France’s Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences president Alain Terzian and comedian Manu Payet, who will host the March 2 winners ceremony, announced the nominees.

Best Animated Film

  • Le Grand Mechant Renard et Autres Contes directed by Benjamin Renner, Patrick Imbert
  • Sahara directed by Pierre Core
  • Zombillenium directed by Arthur de Pins, Alexis Ducord

 Best Animated Short Film

  • Le Future Sera Chauve directed by Paul Cabon
  • I Want Pluto to be a Planet Again directed by Marie Amachoukeli, Vladimir Mavounia-Kouka
  • Le Jardin de Minuit directed by Benoit Chieux
  • Pepe le Morse directed by Lucrece Andreae
