3 New Marvel Series Coming to Disney+

Marvel Studios President and CCO Kevin Feige announces ‘Secret Invasion,’ ‘Ironheart,’ and ‘Armor Wars’ as part of the Disney Investor Day programming reveal extravaganza.

The Marvel Extended Universe just got a lot more….extended! As part of the seemingly endless new content announcements shared at last Thursday’s Disney’s Investor Day, Marvel President and CCO Kevin Feige teased a few of Disney+’s Marvel Universe expansion plans. Feige revealed, “The Cinematic Universe weaves storylines, heroes, and villains across 23 feature films to date. And with Disney+, we’re able to extend this way of storytelling to a new format—creating series that are connected to our theatrical releases, making the MCU more immersive than ever.” While we were already aware of WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, and the rest of their ilk, three new series suprises were announced: Secret Invasion, Ironheart, and Armor Wars.

According to Disney, Secret Invasion “stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos - characters who first met in Captain Marvel.” The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

Ironheart “stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.” Finally, Armor Wars, which is based off the classic Marvel comic series, stars, “Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, aka War Machine, who must face what happens when Tony Stark’s tech falls into the wrong hands.” TWO Iron Man-adjacent series? Christmas came early this year.

Release dates have yet to be announced for these newest Marvel series coming to Disney+.
