Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND falls into the top spot at the box office in its second weekend. For the weekend of March 12-14, ALICE, with vfx by Café FX, Matte World Digital, Nvizage, Sony Pictures Imageworks, and Svengali Visual Effects, earned an additional $62 million, lifting its total tally to $208.6 million.

Paul Greengrass' GREEN ZONE didn't explode in its opening weekend. The Iraq war conspiracy thriller, with vfx by Double Negative and Lip Sync Post, uncovered only $14.5 million. Also in their first weekends, SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE placed third with $9.6 million and REMEMBER ME fourth with $8.3 million.

In fifth, SHUTTER ISLAND, with vfx from Crazy Horse Effects, Gentle Giant Studios, Mark Rappaport Creature Effects and New Deal Studios, locked up another $8.1 million, raising its cume to $108 million.

Fox Searchlight's OUR FAMILY WEDDING debuted at #6 with $7.6 million.

In seventh, AVATAR (with vfx by BUF, Blur Studio, Framestore CFC, Gentle Giant Studios, Halon Ent., Hybride Technologies, Hydraulx, ILM. Lola Visual Effects, Pixel Liberation Front, Prime Focus, Stan Winston Studios, Stereo D, and Weta Digital) is still earning cash making another $6.6 million. This brings its all-time highest cume to $730.3 million.

In eighth and ninth, two cop tales arrived. BROOKLYN'S FINEST, with vfx by Brainstorm Digital, booked $4.3 million in its second weekend, bringing its cume to $21.4 million. Kevin Smith's cop buddy flick COP OUT handcuffed an additional $4.2 million, flipping its cume to $39.4 million.

Closing out the top ten, THE CRAZIES scared up another $3.7 million, bringing its cume to $33.4 million.
