New material exchange platform initially open to Substance Live users; Substance textures and smart materials can be distributed for free.
VENICE, CA -- Allegorithmic users make some of the best game materials on the planet, now they can share them with fellow artists. Announcing Substance Share, a new platform that enables the simple exchange of Substances, smart materials, meshes, shaders, and mesh-adaptive presets between game artists.
Available exclusively to Substance Live members for the first month, Substance Share works through the browser, with Substance Designer and Painter integration to be unveiled in the fall. After signing in with their Allegorithmic account, users can upload materials or start scanning through other artists’ submissions for downloads. Members will also be able to tag, like and comment amongst each other, adding another level of discussion to Substance’s already active community.
“3D artists willing to improve their skills will find a perfect ally in Substance Share,” said Sébastien Deguy, Founder and CEO of Allegorithmic. “Whether it’s sharing materials or giving feedback, our community now has access to a great resource library that will only get more valuable as the years go by.”
Substance Share is free for all Substance users. It will debut at SIGGRAPH 2015 for Substance Live users, with the full community gaining access on September 8th, 2015.
