‘Animal Crackers’ Arrives on Digital and On Demand April 18

The animated comedy, starring John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Danny DeVito, Ian McKellen, and Sylvester Stallone, follows a family that must use a magical box of animal crackers to save a run-down circus from being taken over by their evil uncle.

Lionsgate has just announced that the animated comedy adventure film Animal Crackers arrives April 18 on Digital and On Demand. The star-studded cast includes John Krasinski (The Office), Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place), Danny DeVito (Batman Returns), Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings), and Sylvester Stallone (Rocky).

In the film, when Owen (Krasinski) and his family inherit his uncle Bob’s rundown circus, it seems more like a curse than a gift. But it becomes an entryway to magical adventure when Owen is presented with a mysterious box of animal crackers — with the power to transform the bearer into any animal in the box! It looks like the circus will be a success, until Bob’s villainous brother (McKellen) learns about the box…and he will stop at nothing to get it!

Directed by Tony Bancroft and Scott Christian Sava, Animal Crackers also stars Raven-Symoné, Harvey Fierstein, the late Gilbert Gottfried, Patrick Warburton, and Tara Strong.  Music is by Emmy winning composer Bear McCreary.
