A meeting place for the international film and creative industries, the annual event returns in September to the Swiss town of Baden; submissions for the short film competition are now being accepted through May 14.
Fantoche 21st International Animation Film Festival invites filmmakers worldwide to submit their new animated short films for competition. Eligible films must have been completed after December 31, 2021, and can be no longer than 40 minutes. All techniques and forms of animated film are welcome, and submission is free on FilmFreeway. The event runs September 5-10, and the deadline for submissions is May 14.
Originally launched in 1995 to bring the global animation scene to Switzerland, the festival has become an event for the public and a meeting place for the international film and creative industries. It takes place every year in September over six days in the Swiss town of Baden.
The annual festival features 280+ animated shorts and features films from around the world. The schedule includes various presentations, panels, lectures, and exhibitions. Each year, Fantoche holds both an international and a Swiss competition for short animated productions. Under the guidance of the curators, it addresses and explores an array of themes and shines the spotlight on new, multimedia-based, and interactive forms of animation.
Additional information about submissions is available here.
