Chris Pine, who played Captain Kirk in the latest Star Trek feature, may be traveling to Russia as the rebooted Jack Ryan franchise has reportedly been given the working title Moscow.

According to the site Pajiba, Pine, who previously had officially signed on to reprise the role of Tom Clancy’s uber-CIA agent Jack Ryan, taking over from Ben Affleck, will be working in Moscow in the next film, which takes place early in Ryan’s career when he was a Wall Street Analyst.

Ryan, working for a Russian billionaire, is setup to take the fall in a plot to destroy the US economy.  The story calls for him to race to clear his name, uncover a terrorist plot and save his wife who had been kidnapped by his employer.

Written by Adam Cozad, the new story line resembles Cozad’s previous script Dubai, which he sold to Lorenzo Di Bonaventura in 2007.  Di Bonaventura is a producer on the new Ryan film.  Eric Bana had been but is no longer attached to that property as a producer and possible star.
