Cartoon Network Latin America and Mexico’s Pixelatl festival have announced via Twitter the 10 finalists for the Girl Power: Pitch Me The Future animated series pitching competition.

The pitching competition is an opportunity for female animators and creators living in Latin America to pitch their original show ideas to Cartoon Network. The competition’s finalists will have the chance to pitch their ideas in-front of Cartoon Network executives at the festival. This year’s Pixelatl festival will be held September 4-8 in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

Culled from 289 original series ideas from up-and-coming female animators and creators across Latin America, the competition organizers have selected eight projects from Mexico and one each from Argentina and Peru as finalists.

The winner will be announced on September 8, and will get to develop her project into a series pilot with support from Cartoon Network LatAm and a budget of US$11,000. Once completed, Cartoon Network will screen the pilot on its channels and web platforms.

The jury for the final pitches includes Hernán La Grega of Cartoon Network Latin America and Jaime Jiménez of Cartoon Network Mexico, as well two artists from Cartoon Network’s Burbank studio, Kat Morris (Steven Universe) and Hillary Florido (Regular Show).
