‘Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood’ Headed to Nick Jr. Italy

9 Story Entertainment announces the sale of award-winning animated preschool series Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood to Nick Jr. Italy.

Toronto -- 9 Story Entertainment has announced the sale of the award-winning animated preschool series, Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood (80 x 11’ HD) to Nick Jr. Italy.  The deal was made through Italian distributor Funwood Media. The series is scheduled to be broadcast by Nick Jr. in March 2014.

The series launched in 2012 on PBS KIDS in the U.S. and CBC in Canada.  It has also been licensed to Disney (Russia, SE Asia, Latin America), SRC (French Canada), ABC (Australia), Canal+ (France, Africa), France 5 (France), Super RTL (Germany), Hop TV (Israel), YLE (Finland), NRK (Norway), Zee Learn (Indian Subcontinent), E Junior (Middle East), True Visions (Thailand), Digiturk (Turkey), TVNZ (New Zealand), IRIB (Iran), SVT (Sweden) and Luk International for Spain and Portugal. DVD sales have also been made to ABC Commercial (Australia) and Universal Music (Germany) through Super RTL.      

Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood was recently awarded the Parent’s Choice Award (Silver Honor) for the second year in a row.

The series is co-produced and distributed by 9 Story Entertainment and The Fred Rogers Company.  Executive Producers are Kevin Morrison for The Fred Rogers Company, Angela C. Santomero, co-founder of Out of the Blue and the creative force behind the hit series Blue’s Clues and Super WHY, and Vince Commisso for 9 Story Entertainment.  

Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood offers engaging storylines modeling the core skills that form the foundation of early childhood development and school readiness. Daniel is a shy but brave 4-year-old tiger who lives in the beloved Neighbourhood of Make Believe and with the help of his neighbours, family, and friends – O the Owl, Prince Wednesday, Miss Elaina and Katerina Kittycat, he learns valuable lessons that prepare him for school and life.
