Fans Obsessed with Beyonce

Beyonce Knowles FATAL ATTRACTION-like thriller OBSESSED debuted at the top of the box office this weekend. The temp from hell tale, with vfx from Lola Visual Effects, took in $28.6M.

Last weekend's champ 17 AGAIN came back again in second place, adding $11.5M to its $39.8M cume.

Debuts arrived in the third, fourth and fifth slots. FIGHTING punched in with $11.02M, THE SOLOIST played to the tune of $9.7M, and EARTH made $8.8M in green, having grown $14.5M since its Wednesday opening.

DreamWorks Animation's MONSTERS VS. ALIENS landed in sixth place with an additional $8.52M, rocketing its cume to $174.8M.

Universal's STATE OF PLAY (vfx from Rhythm & Hues) tumbled from #2 to seventh place, earning $6.8M for a two week total of $25.1M. Also taking a five slot plunge was Buena Vista's HANNAH MONTANA THE MOVIE, which has vfx by CIS Hollywood. The TV-inspired flick sang in $6.4M, bringing its total box office take to $65.7M.

Action rounded out the top ten with Universal's FAST AND FURIOUS (vfx by Double Negative and Rhythm & Hues) winning the ninth position with $6.2M, making its box office tally $145.4M, and Lionsgate's CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE (vfx by Duran Duboi and LOOK! Effects) shocking fans one more time in tenth with $2.6M and an $11.7M cume.

In other animated box office news, Focus Features and LAIKA's CORALINE brought in another $80,815 to lift its total to $74.9M. FLY ME TO THE MOON (Summit Ent.) played in eight theaters and took in $37,074 for a 37-week cume of $13.6M. Sony Pictures Classics' WALTZ WITH BASHIR played in 14 theaters for $2,420 and in 18 weeks has earned $2.27M.
