Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz Join Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’

Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, and Christian Convery are also added, joining Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth on the live-action Netflix flick based on Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel.

Jacob Elordi (Priscilla, Saltburn), Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) and Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front) will join Oscar Isaac (Moon Knight, Dune) and Mia Goth (X Trilogy) in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming Frankenstein feature for Netflix. Lars Mikkelsen (The Witcher), David Bradley (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio) and Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth) also join the ensemble.

In development for several years, the live-action project will adapt the 1818 Mary Shelley novel that introduced the world to Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.

Del Toro will pen and direct the upcoming film. Frankenstein continues Netflix’s partnership with del Toro, which includes the Oscar-winning stop-motion film, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, the anthology series Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities, and the animated films Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans and Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia.

The project also continues Netflix’s partnership with Oscar winner J. Miles Dale, who recently served as executive producer and co-showrunner on Cabinet Of Curiosities.
