Disney's new ‘Pirates’ film boasts Margot Robbie at the helm, with DC’s most recent Joker rumored to reunite with his toxic ‘Suicide Squad’ partner on the high seas.
Yo ho, oh no! While we hoped that Johnny Depp would reprise his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean reboot, those hopes have now sailed away to some distant not-in-this-lifetime island. It seems that Disney is much more concerned with avoiding any Depp-centric controversy, as seen by decision to reboot the franchise with Margot Robbie at the helm. Now, tipster Daniel Richtman claims Jared Leto may also join the project, reuniting the toxic Suicide Squad pair.
We’re not sure about the decision to oust Depp in favor of new actors, but at least Richtman’s other rumor of Amber Heard joining the cast has yet to be confirmed. It seems that the tipster may just be throwing out ideas in case one of them proves correct.
How do you think Disney should proceed? Does the franchise even need a reboot?
