Mainframe Completes CGI Scary Godmother Special Using SOFTIMAGEXSI

Vancouver-based Mainframe Entertainment, Inc., a leading creator of computer animation, has digitized the last pixel on it's first one-hour primetime special, SCARY GODMOTHER HALLOWEEN SPOOKTAKULAR, scheduled to air on Canada's YTV network this coming Halloween, October 31, 2003. Mainframe CEO, Rick Mischel, said this is the first time an animation company has made a television special using feature-film quality SOFTIMAGEXSI software. The show is based on the popular comics and children's books by the award-winning artist and writer, Jill Thompson, who also served as the art director. Zeke Norton directed the whimsical animated story that follows the first trick-or-treating adventure of a young girl, Hannah Marie. Her older, meaner cousin tries to frighten her that night but the scheme backfires when Hannah's scary godmother and her quirky monster friends come to her aide. Mischel said, "We're anticipating that this special Halloween show will not only secure primetime pick-up in the States, but will also migrate into a successful television or direct-to-video series." Mainframe plans an extensive Halloween promotional push for the special with tie-ins to Halloween retailers and candy makers.
