On the heels of its Season 1 debut, the Vampire Messiah animated thriller scores a pickup, getting another go at enslaving humanity – the hugely popular series will return with more bloody vampiric machinations, though no release date was announced.
Netflix has released a teaser trailer announcing a Season 2 pickup for Castlevania: Nocturne, as the hugely popular animated thriller gets the nod for more episodes, ensuring another exciting installment of the bloody vampiric Castlevania universe. The show, based on the classic Konami video game series, picks up 300 years after the end of the original series, which ran four seasons on the streamer. No release date was announced.
Creator/showrunner/writer Clive Bradley and showrunner Kevin Kolde shared, “Thanks to all of the Castlevania fans old and new for the amazing response and support! We are excited to be able to bring you more Castlevania: Nocturne and the next chapter in the rise of Richter Belmont.”
Season 1 of Castlevania: Nocturne takes viewers to France in 1792 at the height of the French Revolution. In a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy forges an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to ‘eat the sun’ and unleash an army of vampires and night creatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, the last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance.
Sam Deats and Adam Deats return as directors for Season 2.
Castlevania: Nocturne Season 1 debuted on September 28, and in its first five days, the video game adaptation reached Netflix's Top 10 English TV List during the week of October 1. It also reached the Top 10 in 40 countries.
