Nickelodeon has promoted 11-year Nick vets Steve Keller and Eric Coleman to vps in their respective development areas, reporting to Marjorie Cohn, svp of production, Nickelodeon.
Keller moves up from exec director to vp of live-action development and production, responsible for supervising the development and production of all live-action properties for Nickelodeon, including the new fall series ROMEO! He will continue to manage development and production of all shows from Nickelodeon's animation partners Klasky Csupo, Inc., including RUGRATS spin-off series ALL GROWN UP, slated for November 2003.
Coleman, formerly exec director, is now vp of animation development and production, supervising the development and production of animation properties, including the recently launched MY LIFE AS A TEENAGE ROBOT. He served as development exec on the pilot for SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS in 1997, and has overseen that TV phenomenon since then. Keller initially joined Nickelodeons development department in New York. He lent a guiding hand to the likes of the NICK NEWS SPECIAL EDITIONS: WHEN BAD THINGS HAPPEN AND WHAT ARE YOU STARING AT? and THE MYSTERY FILES OF SHELBY WOO. He moved to Los Angeles in 1998, he continued as an exec in charge on THE JOURNEY OF ALLEN STRANGE, 100 DEEDS FOR EDDIE MCDOWD, CAITLIN'S WAY and THE BROTHERS GARCIA. He later assumed responsibility for Klasky Csupos AS TOLD BY GINGER, RUGRATS and ROCKET POWER.In 2001, he was promoted to exec director, live-action production, taking on a role in development while continuing to oversee individual series and adding administrative and management duties with the west coast production/development group.
Coleman began his career as an assistant in Nickelodeons New York office and rose quickly to animation coordinator on the first wave of original Nicktoons: RUGRATS, REN & STIMPY and DOUG. As manager of development, he worked on pilots for HEY ARNOLD! and ANGRY BEAVERS and served as development executive on pilots for SPONGEBOB and THE WILD THORNBERRYS. Coleman moved to Los Angeles in 1997 as exec in charge of production, managing SPONGEBOB and CATDOG. In 2001, he was promoted to exec director, taking on development responsibilities as well as department administration and continuing to shepherd series such as INVADER ZIM and MY LIFE AS A TEENAGE ROBOT.
